Porcelain Crowns Dublin, CA
A porcelain crown is an extremely versatile treatment which can be used to restore teeth for Dublin residents.
Porcelain crowns, sometimes referred to as porcelain caps, are a type of restorative and cosmetic attachment that covers your tooth. Crowns help your teeth return to their original shape and size, and they reinforce the structure of your teeth, strengthening them in ways unique among restorative treatments. If you have a chipped or cracked tooth and feel embarrassed about your smile or nervous about your oral health, a crown may be the perfect treatment to address your concern.
Why porcelain crowns?
Porcelain is an ideal material for dental procedures because it can match your tooth’s color and look very natural. Crowns made from porcelain are specially made to match the same size, shape, and color of your natural teeth. These crowns will leave you with a long-lasting and natural-looking smile. However, like many dental restorations, your porcelain crowns may need to be repaired or replaced. Your doctor should check the condition of your crowns during regular examinations.

“This is a fantastic, clean and professional facility. The dentist does not try to force sell anything. Very pleased. It is really a breath of fresh air to be able to get work done without getting pressured. He is very gentle and he got rid of an issue that I had tried to get another dentist to do years ago and they wanted to do other stuff ‘first’. I can’t say enough good things about this provider. Highly recommend, and I hate dentists.” 🙂
Reasons for getting porcelain crowns
There are a variety of reasons that might encourage you to want porcelain crowns, including but not limited to:
- Broken or fractured teeth
- Broken or fractured fillings
- You want to enhance your cosmetic appearance
- Protecting root canals
- Tooth decay
If you are interested in restoring color to your smile and function to your bite, a porcelain crown may be an ideal treatment option. Many of Dr. Huang’s patients opt for porcelain crowns over other restorative and cosmetic options.
What is the process of receiving a porcelain crown?
Porcelain crowns typically require two appointments with Dr. Huang.
During the first appointment, molds of your teeth will be taken to create a porcelain crown that fits your tooth perfectly. This mold will also be used to fit a temporary crown on your tooth while the permanent crown is being fabricated.
Once your x-rays are taken and your temporary crown has been created, Dr. Huang will fit it. He will numb your tooth and reshape its surface to fit the temporary crown, which may require removing any decay. You will then be fitted with your temporary crown, and Dr. Huang will make any necessary adjustments to ensure you have a consistent, healthy bite.
At your second appointment, Dr. Huang will remove the temporary crown and fit your permanent crown after you are numbed. At All-in-One Dental Innovations, we take special care to ensure that your mouth has appropriate spacing between your teeth and that you can bite comfortably with your new permanent crown. Dr. Huang will then give you instructions on caring for your crown. He will answer any questions you have and ensure a smooth, successful procedure.
